Eating for Health by Nancy G. Addision, CHC, AADP

“Let Food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food” was what Hippocrates believed and practiced in 431 B.C. It is wisdom passed down through time that is still true.

Health is actually the normal state of being. Dis ease is not a normal state of being, yet many of us today have or know someone who has Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s or many other diseases that are growing in number. It is time to take control of our health by eating for our health.

What we eat and drink is what become our blood and our cells as we digest it. Foods and liquids are the major contributor to making our body healthy or not.

When we are eating foods that are chemically produced, genetically engineered, processed, chemically fertilized, sprayed with pesticides, and dipped in color, wax and preservatives; we are giving poisons to the cells in our body. We need to go back to basics and start eating food that isn’t in a package, jar, can or from a fast food restaurant.

The healthiest foods to eat are organic fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. Although organic raw seeds, nuts, beans, legumes and grains are nutritionally rich as well, fruits and vegetables are the cleanest most efficient foods.

This gives the body the nutrients it needs to strengthen and run efficiently. When eating foods like this we are feeding the body on a deep cellular level.

This is really very simple; eat real whole fresh organic food that is not cooked or processed..

We are what we eat. Eat for your health and your body will love you for it.
